Brian and I served as Art Directors for World Wrestling Entertainment in the Early to mid-2000s (I left at the end of 2006 , he left about a year later). Brian oversaw creation of all Live Event visual branding as his main responsibility. Around 2004 both Marketing and Creative services saw a rather large restructuring which left creative with a small core group of art directors that were now responsible for other departments and initiatives that were previously assigned to other creative groups. Brian assumed responsibility of merchandising projects, Pay-Per-View Event creation and collateral, Video and DVD releases as well as myriad custom illustrations for branded creative. Before I moved on I was pleased to see that Brian was becoming an excellent manager and role model to the juniors brought on prioritizing their workloads while considering their skill levels and passing along his knowledge the entire time. Brian and I have remained in contact both personally and professionally since parting ways as I often rely on him for stunning illustration work for Wine Enthusiast Magazine he has a versatile, classically trained style that can be as loose or as tight as one asks for. Why Brian is an asset: Brian came to WWE before it developed a corporate structure. He was there essentially from the beginning of the creation of the machine that it is today. He played a major role in the polishing and streamlining of the creative presentation whether it was a simple tee shirt design or the creation of Wrestlemania key art and delegation of all the support material associated with it. He was one of a small group of extremely talented artists responsible for training and teaching a much larger group of artists the skills necessary to keep an elite visual brand humming along. While Brian may not advertise it, once you get to know him you begin to realize that he's usually the smartest guy in the room.
